As a restaurant five and a half meters below the surface in Norway, we have from the very beginning been aiming to expose our guests and visitors to the wonders beneath the sea. We have developed a restaurant and a destination with focus on marine research, unique experiences, and gastronomy.

By focusing on the coexistence of life on land and in the sea, we have proposed a new way of understanding our relationship to our surroundings – above the surface, under the water, and alongside the life of the sea in the region.

The four years has been a unique and fantastic journey to gain knowledge and to push boundaries in finding the right balance serving both the delicate ecological balance between land and sea and our attention to sustainable models for responsible consumption. At core has been the wish to share both our knowledge about nature and sea with our visitors and to continuously develop our gastronomic profile and experience.

Going forward we will focus on strengthening a lasting organization and redeveloping a holistic local based gastronomic concept that is available for a larger audience. Our ambition is to continue to provide stellar experiences and any future honorable ratings will be based on who we are, our value proposition and conviction.

We believe this increased focus will secure a long-term future for our extended culinary ambitions and give our concept and ambitions the necessary flexibility to pursue more diverse and agile interaction with our visitors, local community and region. At the same time, we will keep our ambitions high and continue to provide a sustainable high quality gastronomic experience.

These changes mean that we will close the restaurant for a short period this winter with the aim of being up and running again in April 2024.

The restaurant is running as normal lead by our Head Chef Nicolai Ellitsgaard until Saturday 16 December, and we still have available tables during the coming months.
